Cape Cod Road Trippin'

+ News, Notes, and weekly favorites

Hey Everyone,

It’s been an awesome week on Cape Cod. This was a region of the state that was a bit of a blind spot on my quest. I came down here on Tuesday and will head home Friday afternoon with five (maybe six) new courses checked off.

  • Farm Neck GC

  • Paul Harney

  • Eastward Ho!

  • Highland Links

  • Chequessett Club

  • Dennis Pines

Plenty of writing and video coming about what I discovered. Met some followers in person. Caught up with old friends. Played some great golf courses, hit some good shots, hit some bad shots.

In the meantime, check out my Farm Neck feature in Northeast Golf Magazine. Their shoulder season pricing started this week.

Due to being on the road and playing golf all week, this is a short and sweet newsletter.

Have a great weekend.

News and Notes

Pro Golf

🏌️ Michael Thorbjornsen finished T13 in the ProCore Championship last week. He is currently 85th in the FedEx Cup. The top 100 earn their PGA Tour Card for 2026. There are six events left this fall, so he’s in a good spot to return to the PGA Tour next year.

🏌️‍♀️ ⛳️ Megan Khang, Alexa Pano, and Brittany Altomare are all in the field for the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in Arkansas. It starts on Friday. Live scoring.

Amateur Golf

🏆️ Patrick McGuiness won the New England Senior Amateur at Ledges GC in Maine. He shot 73-69 (-2). John McNeill was low Massachusetts golfer. He finished T2, one shot behind the champ.

🇺🇸 Max Ferrari and Nick Leibold qualified for the U.S. Four-Ball with a 64 at CC of Pittsfield. New Yorkers Christian Chapman + Chris Bonhag crossed the border and shot 64 to grab the other spot.

🇺🇸 Five Massachusetts women reached match play of the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur in Virginia this week. Jayne Pardus, Erin O’Hara, and Tara Joy-Connelly all reached the Round of 32 before bowing out.

🥴 Matt Parziale had quite a stretch at the U.S. Mid-Am this week. He missed match play by a shot… None of the Bay Staters who travelled to Arizona made match play. Max Campion came the closest. He lost in the 10-for-3 playoff.

🏆️ MassGolf hosted its first-ever Net Four Ball championship. Congrats to Josh Ducharme and Peter Duquette.

When I’m not golfing…

I’m listening to…

✈️ Over the years, No Laying Up has done an airport pod where they discuss the best and worst of air travel. I did not think that Pete Buttigieg would ever join them.

I’m eating…

🌮 Anejo in Hyannis was recommened a lot to me. So I checked it out and had the grouper tacos. Fantastic. Also fantastic… getting chips and salsa as soon as you sit at the bar. They have locations in Falmouth and Plymouth, too.

🍕 Cape Flats makes some great pizza.

🥪 Old Kings Coffee in Hyannis makes a mean egg and cheese.

I’m drinking…

🍸️The Anejo Ranch Water was one of the best drinks I’ve had this year.
