Hey Everyone,
I checked off course 169 this week. Drove down to Cape Cod, where it felt like summer on Thursday (in contrast to foggy, chilly Boston) to play Quashnet Valley CC. I thought it was pretty good! Very tight and a little choked out by trees, but greens were cool and it was a nice walk, especially the front nine. It was a tough course to open the season, trouble lurking everywhere.
Shoutout to all the superintendents and staff who worked to get golf courses ready to play. I hit a few balls into and around the woods at Qushnet Valley CC and it was stunning to see all the debris and trees limbs that had been moved to the edges of the course.
We have a beefy news and notes section. Let’s get to it!

I found this article, “Will Sister Mary Kay Turn Out the Lights?” pretty incredible.
For 209 years the Sisters of Charity have cared for New York — nursing Civil War wounded in a hospital where Central Park now stands, taking in survivors of the Titanic, tending to gay men during the AIDS crisis when much of the city looked away, staffing parish schools for generations of working-class families. The Foundling, which they opened in 1869, became one of New York’s largest child welfare agencies and survives today under lay leadership. - NYTimes

I’m putting the finishing touches on a Cape Cod Road Trip video for next week and I’m using my brother’s music in it. Which is very cool. Go check him out.
