As the competitive season gets rolling in the region, I will be sending out a short newsletter on Monday (or Tuesday morning!) with a rundown of results from the weekend, along with a preview of any upcoming events.

Paid subscribers will also get a few musings or thoughts that struck me from tracking events over the weekend.

Of course, if something big happens (like when Michael Thorbjorsen wins…), there might be a bit of writing about it. But ultimately, this email will be snappy and to the point.

Pro Golf

Ford Championship: Megan Khang shot 67-71-71-70 (-9) to finish T50. Alexa Pano missed the cut by one shot after two rounds of 70. Hyo Joo Kim won the event with a stunning 28-under par. She fired TWO rounds of 61. Live Scoring

Houston Open: Michael Thorbjornsen (Wellesley, Mass.) was in a great position to earn a spot in The Masters. He needed a T11 or better finish, but a poor final nine holes pushed him outside that threshold, and he ended up T14. Gary Woodland set the scoring record in his victory. Woodland is 2.5 years removed from brain surgery and spoke two weeks ago about his PTSD, which is a symptom of his cancer treatment. Incredible story.

Davis Chatfield shot 70 in the first round and then got off to a great start on Friday, but a disastrous finish on Friday afternoon caused him to miss the cut by two shots. Live Scoring
